Forts of Mumbai

Parks and Natural Reserves
Mumbai can easily be defined as a concrete jungle but in this city of stone and glass, lies a very green heart. It has some mesmerising natural landscapes to offer if you have the eye and the will to look for them. Sanjay Gandhi National Park, formerly known as Borivali National Park is a protected area which lies within the city limits and extends to around 87 square kilometres and boasts wide varieties of flora and fauna. Another popular local park is the Sewri Mangrove Park which not only holds a dense mangrove cover but is also an excellent flamingo spotting point. Located 12 kilometre from Panvel, Karnala Bird Sanctuary offers splendid views of birds and Silvassa, and Bhandardara is other naturally buoyant places to visit if you are looking for longer school trips.
